Saudi Arabia to Host World Wrestling Entertainment for the Next 10 Years

Saudi Arabia🇸🇦 to Host World Wrestling🤼 Entertainment for the Next 🔟 Years

The Saudi General Sports Authority (GSA) has signed an agreement with World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE) to hold their shows in the kingdom over the coming decade.

The contract was signed by GSA chairman Turki Al-Sheikh and WWE chairman and owner Vince McMahon, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The two parties did not give any further details about the deal, except that WWE would hold a show in Saudi Arabia and perhaps in the whole of the MENA region at least once a year in the coming 10 years.

The planned shows are not the first of their kind to be held in Saudi Arabia.

In 2014, WWE held its first show in Riyadh, which featured several large wrestling names such as Dolph Ziggler, Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Seth Rollins.

WWE has also held shows in neighbouring GCC member the UAE in 2012 and 2016. The two most recent events held in the country were one in December 2017 in Abu Dhabi and one in April 2016 in Dubai.
